Fridge seals come in several different shapes, with 'dart' and 'flap and lip' profiles the most commonly used.
We have set up a gasket profile page on our website to categorise specific gasket profiles into these sub-types. We have also categorised the same seals by brand for those who prefer to narrow down their options first.
Once you've brought up the relevant page on our website, the next thing to do is make a cut all the way through your gasket, taking care not to damage the fridge door. Pull away a strip next to the cut to reveal a cross-section.
If you're searching by profile, click the category your gasket resembles. Scroll through the gallery of online drawing cards until you find a picture that looks like your cross-section.
As you hover over the image, note down the various measurements and, using a tape measure, compare them with the drawing card. Repeat this until you find an exact match.
You can then click on the drawing to bring up our online ordering form. Scan the bullet list to the left of the page to double check your fridge's brand is listed there.
You will also need to measure the height and width of your gasket to fill in the 'measurement' section of our ordering form. If measuring the 'outside edge', simply take the distance between the outside edges of the seal. If measuring between the 'dart centres', pull out the seal and use the tracks in the door, taking the distance from the inside of one track to the outside of the other. Click the link for more guidance on how to take measurements of your gasket.
If none of the options you see match your door seal profile, you can send us a photo via our online form. You can even email us your photos or send them via WhatsApp if you prefer.
Either way, you will need to include the height and width measurements of your cross-section. Any other measurements you can provide (e.g. minimum and maximum width of the dart) will be helpful.
If using our form, you can send up to four pictures which must be in JPEG format and no bigger than 10MB. You will also need to measure the height and width of your gasket as described in the previous section, specifying whether you are measuring between the outside edges or dart centres.
In the unlikely case that you are unable to cut through the gasket, pull out a section at the corner and photograph it in place, making sure you show how it attaches to the door.
Even if we are unable to source the original door seal, we can manufacture one from the details you provide.
Whether you're an individual business, service contractor or facilities manager, if you need to order fridge door seals in bulk, you could benefit from our multi-buy discounts.
We also recommend considering a Gasket Guy Asset Register which will make it easier than ever to identify your replacement seal profile.
A Gasket Guy Asset Register is a database containing details of your appliance gaskets including the profile, dimensions and when they were last replaced. Each is assigned a code and a sticker for foolproof identification.
